Latest Updates from Our Project:

TIME SENSITIVE; UPGRADE YOUR MAT SIZE!
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 25, 2018 at 10:22:56 PM

The first image of the full mat, 4'x6'. This would normally be cut in half to make two 3x4' mats for the stretch goals or the add-on that was available at backerkit.

So, if you are receiving the 3x4' mat, it will be either the top or bottom half of this image (no way to choose which).

As an aside, I discovered that although I THOUGHT I had locked down the backerkit cart, I had actually missed a step. So it is STILL OPEN.

This creates an opportunity. If you would like to have the full 4x6' mat, I've created three options:

1. If you don't have a mat coming already, just pick the 4x6' mat off the cart.

2. If you have already ordered one through the add-ons OR already had one coming through the stretch goals, pick the Game Mat Upgrade from the cart.

3. If you bought a SECOND 3x4' mat to go with your stretch goal mat (in order to get a larger playing surface), then remove the second 3x4' from your card and instead use the Game Mat Upgrade item from the cart.

If you encounter any problems, please let me know!

I plan on truly locking down (which as I've discovered means having them bill all the credit cards) July 1. I'll send a warning out before I do.

Proofing and Waiting
almost 6 years ago – Fri, Jun 22, 2018 at 09:55:24 PM

All of the materials needed for third-party production have been submitted, and proofs are coming in right and left for review. Three of the four card decks are in full production, two large cartons of finished card inventory are in shipment to me, and the fourth (character cards) are being set up for proofing and will be ready to look at next week.

The most dramatic proof to come in was this feller' here:

I'm over the moon looking at the final book--many thanks to Dave Taylor for his work on this. I've published other books over the years, and this is hands-down the most visually appealing of them all. I had no idea the difference a hard-cover binding would make, but it's enormous.

NEXT STEPS:

1. Sometime in the next few weeks, you'll get a notice from Backerkit about confirming your shipping address. In six months, some of you may have changed addresses. It's very important to review your address and make sure it's current. Also, cards will be charged at Backerkit, and if there are any problems with them going through, the folks there will contact you to check the number, etc.

2. The PDF of the rules will become available around the time the backer kits start shipping. The PDF downloads will be handled through Backerkit and distributed via a link they send out.

3. I've been corresponding with folks who opted for the Judge's Level about their custom sculpts. I'm still waiting on ideas from a couple of you.

4. We're working on putting together some kind of hub online for the community of players to rally around to share scenarios, character designs, house rules, etc. We'll probably be utilizing a combination of the Board Game Geek forum, a Facebook group, the Gunfighter's Ball blogspot, and a page from my site with all the links in one place.

I'll keep you posted.

Production Update; Book Surprise
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Jun 14, 2018 at 01:20:54 AM

Hi Guys,

Big announcement: the book will be hardback. I initially didn't think I could afford it, but through the beauty of a kickstarter and the numbers of customers getting in on the deal, the order I place next week for printing will include a beautiful hardback binding!

Other than that, we're slogging away at production; most of the slogging has to be done by 3rd parties at this point as we've pretty much finished the casting and have things bagged and in sorting bins. Sets of minis like the collective stretch goal figures, the hordes, etc. are amalgamated into their own larger packaging so we can pull them in single batches to fill pledges. Our laser cutting and resin casting outfit is burning the midnight oil to get us all of the buildings and parts needed so the building kits can be packed in their own "hordes" (Abilene Addition, One Horse Town, etc.).

The mat's final proof was approved and it's being produced on the other side of the Pacific. I love the way it came out. I have cleared a large space by the bay doors of the shop for the palettes of mats as they will take up some considerable space!

The order has been placed with the printer for the Pistoleer and Black Decks. The proof for the Death Dealer Deck came in today and I'll approve it for production tomorrow after a color tweak on a face card or two. I just wrapped up proofing the character cards, front and back (140 files), and they will go to press next week.

I had hoped for June fulfillment, but it's looking more like July. That said, everything I've seen coming in from the outside is absolutely beautiful, and worth waiting for. Dave Taylor has done a beautiful job laying out the book and designing the cover. The cards are really amazing (if you saw samples this spring at conventions, you can vouch for that)--they're gorgeous, the quality of the card stock is very professional, and functionally they enhance game play a lot. They've got a nice snap to them--like a real poker card and not a baseball card.

Please let me know if you have any questions as things proceed. I'll send out a notice when the first orders begin to roll out the door. I also should have the screen resolution PDF of the rules available soon, in advance of fulfillment of physical product.

Thanks for all your support, and for bringing this to life!

Be sure to check the Knuckleduster Facebook page for posts and photos with more information as things come in.

Urgent: Backer Names for Book Credits!
almost 6 years ago – Fri, May 18, 2018 at 07:21:31 PM

Thanks for your corrections, everybody. It's possible that I got confused and missed your note to me, so please review the listing again and make sure I made the changes needed to your name:

Backer Name Master List

The list will go off to the book designer this weekend, and it's the only item besides the index (which will of course be last of all) left to do, so it's critical to get it submitted  soon!

I only have one that's a mystery to me: Damon, with no last name. If this is you, please let me know how you'd like it to appear.

That's all for now!

Backer Name Check
almost 6 years ago – Thu, May 17, 2018 at 12:00:23 AM

Hi All,

I've compiled a list of backer names for the credits in the book. Please look for your name and let me know if I've presented it correctly. Also, I'm missing some first names from the data I got from Backerkit, so let me know if that needs adding.

Finally, if you don't want your name in the book, let me know and it shall be stricken!

Here is a text file which should open in a new window. Please look for your name and send me any corrections:

Backer Names

Thanks!

Forrest
