Latest Updates from Our Project:

HONEST JOHN
over 6 years ago – Mon, Dec 11, 2017 at 12:00:13 PM

Good morning, everyone. I've just posted the next stretch goal. This campaign is on the move heading into the final nine days!

Honest John as a dismounted figure has been around awhile--he features our favorite big man on the Winchester--this version has a badge and can be found alongside our earliest series of figures which as come to be called the Starter Faction (not to be confused with the Icons faction in the Kickstarter). If you purchase the Gunfighter's Horde add-on, he's in there and he looks like this:

I'm going into the Add-Ons this morning to add another item. This will be the "orphans" pack, a set of 10 figures that exist as singles outside the faction packs. They will include Dynamite Dick, Bat Masterson, Wild Bill Hickok, and seven others. I will also add individual items from the campaign that have not yet been posted to the Add-Ons.

Thanks, everyone!

Adios,

Forrest

Updated Add-Ons Section
over 6 years ago – Mon, Dec 11, 2017 at 10:59:04 AM

Hi everyone,

Just added a slough of items to the add-ons. There is a summary list and individual graphics for each one. The newest is the Orphans pack--nine figures previously unattached to a faction (Wild Bill, the 1st Doc Holliday figure, Bat Masterson, Dynamite Dick, Gun for Hire, Bass Reeves, the Frontiersman, the Dame with No Name, and the California Kate Variant (GBF-17). These figures are not in the "Gunfighter's Horde" add-on, and they will complete your collection of all existing gunfighters if you're new and trying to catch-up to where we're at in our product line.

You'll also find cards, and stretch-goal figures in the list.

Adios!

Fill Yer' Hands!
over 6 years ago – Sat, Dec 09, 2017 at 06:26:18 PM

Wow--just passed 20K handily. Thanks to everybody for pushing this over the $20,000 level and into new territory!

This means Anglo Eyes is officially unlocked. The next one is a bit larger, a bit more ambitious to make, and a bit further stretch, but well worth it.

There will be some hours and some finesse in the design as I will have to split it in some very precise locations; the reigns will be attached to the rider figure (can't really make a good fit gluing something to his mouth!), and the the trailing reigns will be attached by the modeler to the horse in the saddle pommel area where it can be blended more easily. The alloy I use makes bending very easy. Also, the right arm will be a separate piece. When complete, this one will be a stunner!

Thanks again. I'd say we're in the latter part of Act II of the campaign, and ACTIII will involve some larger items and some surprises (as always).

Adios,

Forrest

Benny the Bandito Unlocked!
over 6 years ago – Fri, Dec 08, 2017 at 07:21:34 PM

I awoke this morning to find we have broke through 19k, and that means Benny the Bandito is unlocked!

So you have the drifter and the bandito, so you'll be needing . . .

Our 20k stretch goal figure!

In other news, we're busy doing our final edits to the manuscript. Next week I'll be traveling about 2 hours north to do a photo session with a professional miniature photographer (used to work in art direction for the toy industry, but his passion has always been gaming) who will give the book and cards the crisp images of our minis that they deserve.

In the comments section I answered a question about building interiors. The roofs all come off and the interior of the doors and windows include a frame that finishes off the woodwork--each set of door or window castings is simply 2 castings: an interior and exterior that fit in a cutout hole, sandwiching the wall between them. As the late Bob Ross used to say, "thaaaaat easy, thaaaaat easy."

Adios!

GB Buildings--Blog Article on the MDF Buildings
over 6 years ago – Fri, Dec 08, 2017 at 04:22:53 AM

Hi--just a quick link to an article about the MDF buildings. This gives you some close-ups of the materials and how they're constructed. It's from September, so it doesn't include the new buildings, but it has some good pics of the existing buildings (the ones you'll find in the add-ons).

The really unique thing about these is the metal door and window castings, which are 3-D modeled. The windows and doors are the weakest part of an MDF building, so by making them from metal, they are more durable and also easier to put together. There is a lot of detail burned into the surface of the MDF pieces, so you have nail holes planking, with rough wood, like boardwalks and stair treads, looking suitably weathered. The MDF is 3mm, which is thicker than some of the stuff out there, so durability is better than the typical MDF model.

Another feature you'll find is very realistic and generous proportions inside, so if you're using large 30mm bases for a game like Malifaux, you'll have plenty of room to move figures.

Adios!
